The Anam Dormitory Fire Safety Instructions and Evacuation Routes

Fire Safety Instructions and Evacuation Routes

Upon noticing fire, you must shout out “Fire! (Bul-i-ya!)” to inform other residents of the situation. Press the Fire Alarm on the Fire Hydrant Panel in the hall Call the Fire Department at 119. (Explain the exact location, the cause of the fire, contact number(s), how to access the location, etc.)

Evacuation Guidelines

Remain calm. Do not panic Follow directions given by university staff who are familiar with the university facilities. Use an exit leading away from the fire. Do not open any door without checking whether it or its handle is hot. Stay low and cover your nose and mouth with a wet towel during evacuation. Avoid closed areas such as bathrooms and blocked passageways. Do not hide or jump from places without any preparation Using the elevator is dangerous since there is a chance of an accident in the case of a power failure If you move to the rooftop, seek and wait for rescue with the wind at your back. Make sure to know where the fire exits are at all times. (Maps displaying the current location and evacuee guide signs are on the walls of each floor within the Dormitory.)
